I am a sound designer, researcher, artist and educator. I am currently reading for a Master of Arts in Sound as an Erasmus Mundus Scholar in a programe titled ReSound, at the Institute of Art, Design + Technology in Dublin, Lusofona University in Lisbon and the Lithuanian Academy for Music and Theatre in Vilnius. My recent works explore the relationship between sound and cultural heritage, in an attempt to understand decolonial and post-colonial paradigms of re-framing and honoring intangible cultural heritage through sound-based art, film and installation art. Prior to my post-graduate studies, I was the Tamayyuz (excellence) Research Fellow at NYU Abu Dhabi where my research explored the relationship between inclusive music pedagogy and Social Emotional Learning (SEL). In my work, I draw from post-colonial theory, critical pedagogy, and Dis/Ability studies. I am passionate about arts education research, and is am advocate for the inclusion of arts education in early childhood education.
Aside from my research, I am also a sound designer, musician and live music fanatic. I have worked on a number of short films, documentaries and audio projects and I enjoy exploring the power of storytelling through sound.
